2026 IHC Buckle Series

Registration is for one rider and one horse combination. That same rider/horse team must compete in both Horsemanship and Gymkhana at each event. Riders may register multiple times if competing with more than one horse. And registration is FREE! 

A rider can choose to not compete in classes and will receive a 0 points for those classes either from Horsemanship or Gymkhana. 

POINT SYSTEM - How it will all be counted! 

1st Place – 6 points

2nd Place – 5 points

3rd Place – 4 points

4th Place – 3 points

5th Place – 2 points

6th Place – 1 point

 

No points will be awarded beyond 6th place.

 

AWARDS At the conclusion of the series, awards will be presented for: High Point Champion Reserve High Point Champion Awards will be based on cumulative points earned throughout the series. DIVISIONS • Leadline / Buckaroo (combined) • Youth: 7–12 •.Junior: 13–18 • Adult: 19–49 • Select: 50+ Age divisions are based on the rider’s age as of January 1, 2026. REGISTRATION •

SERIES FORMAT The 2026 Buckle Series combines:
• Horsemanship / Ranch Riding (morning) 9am start to 12:00pm approx.
• Gymkhana (afternoon) starts at 12:30pm approx. 

This is a High Point Series with points accumulated throughout the 4 event dates. Each day will include:
• 3 qualifying classes from Horsemanship / Ranch Riding
• 3 qualifying classes from Gymkhana Points earned from qualifying classes will count toward overall series standings within each division.
• Daily event entry fees still apply.
• Riders are not required to attend all 4 event dates.
• Riders only receive points for events/classes they participate in. HORSE RULES
• Riders may enter multiple horses.
• Each horse/rider combination must register a separate Buckle Series registration form, registration is FREE. 
• Once registration closes, horse substitutions are not permitted .
• Exceptions may only be approved with a veterinarian note confirming injury or through board approval under exceptional circumstances. GENERAL RULES
• All riders, parents, guardians, and spectators are expected to follow Interlakes Horse Club rules, code of conduct, and arena etiquette.
• Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in point deductions, disqualification, or removal from the series at the discretion of the Board of Directors .
• The Interlakes Horse Club reserves the right to make rule clarifications or adjustments if necessary for fairness, safety, or unforeseen circumstances .
• Judge and timer decisions are final. The goal of the Interlakes Horse Club Buckle Series is to promote horsemanship, sportsmanship, community involvement, and fun in a welcoming environment for riders of all ages and experience levels.
