Horse clubs may bring people together through clinics, practices and events, but nights like last night remind us what really matters… community, kindness and people showing up for each other when it counts most. ❤️ There are so many people I want to thank from last night’s fundraiser for Adrianna and her family. These names are in no particular order because every single person mattered and every single contribution helped make this night what it was. ❤️ Tia and Brooke were truly the backbone of this event. From creating posters, taking bookings, communicating one by one with 26 riders, picking up ice, handling waivers, organizing prizes, setting up barrels, doing the opening prayer and running around nonstop all day long… there’s honestly too much to even list. These girls poured their hearts into this fundraiser and it showed. Karl Lutsch, our announcer with the fantastic voice, also hauled in three horses for three riders and didn’t even ride himself. Because of Karl, three young girls got the chance to participate tonight. Thank you Karl for making that happen. Areal was also a key part in planning this event. From dinner meetings, insurance coverage and everything in between, even though she wasn’t able to be there tonight, she was still a huge part of the success this event became and we appreciate her very much. Bobbi-Jo was another key part of this event. She brought the announcer system, handled timing and scorekeeping, brought her computer to print score sheets and helped us figure out barrel measurements when we needed it. Organized, calm, smiling from start to finish and always exactly where we needed her to be without even having to ask. Absolutely amazing. Cristy Mellott, Emily, Cecilia and the outriders crew stepped up huge. They handled the gate, waivers, payments, brought tables and helped with countless tasks all evening long. Cristy also generously donated all the beverages for the event. Cristy is also Adrianna’s coach and was a key part in planning this fundraiser from the very beginning. Cecilia was also a huge part of helping plan the event and helped gather prize donations among many other things. Cambria was an absolute rockstar. She made sure everyone had what they needed, helped everything run smoothly, came to the rescue with arena measuring equipment and jumped in absolutely everywhere. She even spent the evening poop scooping so nobody would have to stay late cleaning up afterward. Thank you to Terri for coming on her lunch break just to plug in the fridge and freezer for us, among many other things throughout the evening. Tera was everywhere. Picking up food, helping at the barbecue, assisting with setup and takedown and staying until the very end making sure garbage and cans were cleaned up. She was such an incredible support person all night long. Michelle Miller was cooking hot dogs, organizing and jumping in wherever needed throughout the evening. Thank you Michelle! Colleen ran the raffle table and was such a friendly welcoming face all evening. She helped with setup, takedown, talking to people and jumped in wherever needed. Fantastic job Colleen! Roxanne stayed far longer than she planned to after just having surgery. She brought and set up our road signs and helped keep track of all the money coming in for the family. As our club treasurer, we are so lucky to have her. Thank you as well to Mandy and Roxanne for going to the bank this morning and making sure the funds got sent to the family right away. Mandy McLelland was also part of the planning committee, attending meetings and dinners, negotiating insurance terms and working alongside the ICC to help make this fundraiser happen. Jaelyn, thank you for creating the music playlist for the evening and helping with many other duties throughout the night. And thank you to her sister Kayla for helping with last minute errands. A huge thank you to Kevin Kain from Simply Solar for helping set up barrels in the arena and jumping in to help where needed. Thank you to Jason for helping harrow the arena along with many other tasks throughout the evening including poop scooping. And thank you to Gaia and Hunter for carrying the giant speaker up to the announcer booth! Thank you to Karyn Greenless, who came up from 70 Mile and volunteered her time to help support the event and the family. We appreciate you stepping up for the community. I also believe Christine Vanbuskirk was helping in the kitchen area throughout the evening, so thank you Christine for jumping in to help as well. Thank you as well to Wendy from the Bridge Lake Store for bringing donations that had been given through the store to help support the fundraiser and Adrianna’s family. We truly appreciate it. Thank you to the volunteer first aid attendants and the volunteer fire department for being there to support this event and our community. Thank you to Bo McKinley from the Interlakes Community Centre for working alongside us to help make this event happen. It truly takes a village to pull off something like this and tonight our community showed up in the most beautiful way. ❤️ If we accidentally missed anyone, please know it was never intentional. There were so many people stepping in everywhere all evening long and we appreciate every single one of you
